Freedom of Speech

Freedom of Speech

We uphold that freedom of speech is essential to a free and thriving society.

1.        Truthful expression is a biblical principle that affirms the dignity of all individuals.

“But speaking the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15)

2.        Free speech fosters  innovation and accountability.

It enables individuals to contribute to societal growth while holding leaders and institutions accountable.  "If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” (George Washington).

3.        Challenges like censorship, cancel culture, and misuse of hate speech laws suppress open dialogue.

Hate speech laws should only be used for the intent to protect. They should not stifle religious or traditional beliefs, labeling respectful expressions as hateful. This undermines the core purpose of free speech.

4.        Our Commitment:

We stand for protecting the right to speak freely. “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers." (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 19)
