1. The Bible is clear about the virtue of sexual relations.
But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. (Matthew 5:28).
2. Pornography is damaging human health and forms a danger for society.
Pornography is a drug that produces an addictive neurochemical trap. It is a pheromone; it changes the pleasure set point of the brain and creates a new normal through the process of neuroplasticity or change in the way our brain perceives and values pleasure. (Donald L. Hilton Jr. MD, American Board of Neurological Surgeons).
3. Pornography is a variant of prostitution and a form of human trafficking.
Pornography is understood to be filmed prostitution. 75% of sex trafficking victims are now advertised online. (United Nations Report of the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, its causes and consequences, Reem Alsalem 2024).
4. Pornography violates women’s rights and dignity.
Violence against women is prolific in pornography. 88.2% of all scenes contain physical assault and 48.7% contain degrading verbal language. (Ana J. Bridges et al., “Aggression and Sexual Behavior in Best-Selling Pornography Videos: A Content Analysis Update”, Violence Against Women, vol. 16, No. 10, 2010.)
5. Comprehensive Sexuality Education in its current form promotes pornography and should therefore be removed from school curricula.
CSE uses porn-like images and graphic descriptions to teach children as young as 10 that all “consensual” sexual activity is their “right”. (Child Protection League, Minnesota).
6. Our Commitment:
We, therefore, call upon states to protect our families against the devastating effects of pornography and to put measures in place to support the affected individuals.
